Here is some of my recent work in my Sketch Book! :)

 Gonna be starting a new one soooon! :)

 

I've been creating a lot of patterns and confusing drawings, heres an unfinished example!

 

I'm still messing with images I've taken but I've added paint to the equation.

 

 

Here I'm using different materials to create a confusing image.

 

Art Book!!

I visited the IMMA in Dublin a weekend or two ago but was very disappointed to find all the gallerys were under maintenence :( There was one gallery open tho and i also got this really cool art book. It's called "Sketch Books, the hidden ART of designers,illustrators and creatives" by Richard Brereton.

I love it! It has all the ideas and thoughts of artists in there sketchbooks! It's really inspirational! Here are two examples! :)

So i came across this photgrapgher in a book I got out from the library about photograpghy. I found a lot of her pictures are abstract which I love.

Textile Lecture!

So in the Textile lecture on Monday they showed us weaving. I thought it was really interesting how you can use all sorts of materials including paper. You can also make illusions with paper when you weave it. I decided to give it ago and was very happy with the the first piece i made. I used a poem called Road Not Taken by Robert Frost typed on a plain A4 sheet of paper and an image i took of a path.

 



3D Work!

So i went to a 3D workshop today! It helped a lot! I wanted to continue on with a box/square shape so i used paper. I didn't really know what i was doing at the start but then i square shape began to form. I took pictures to put up and one or two of the pictures looks very like an illusion so i was very happy with the out come!

PUBLISH, Don't save!

So as Halloween week was a general haze of the flu I have nothing to show for it! :( I did do some researching for my C.S.S. essay though... but anyhoo onwards and upwards with my project! :)

So I researched some photographers and found some images I thought were very interesting. I felt they linked with my work.

I also found 3d/2d digital artist called Hock! I found his images really interesting, they inspired me to do some 2d work like his!
